What happens after your K-1 visa is approved

You may have been approved after going to the interview, having all documents in order, and then being told, “Congratulations, you’re approved”.
After the US Embassy approves your K-1 visa, you will be notified online through the CEAC website.

Alternatively, you may have been approved after being placed in “Administrative processing” for awhile, in which case you gathered and submitted the required documents. Eventually, you were approved.

Welcome to the final point of the journey for a K-1 visa. This isn’t the last step for the beneficiary to secure residency in the US. You definitely have more steps to go (come to the US, marry, apply for “permanent residence status”, + more). But for now, let’s make sure that your approved K-1 visa is used properly.
